Dear Mayor Mullen and Members of the Village Board:

We, the undersigned members of Benet’s student community, respectfully request your support for Benet Academy’s proposal to renew, renovate, and modernize its stadium and athletic fields. The proposal has been thoroughly studied, reviewed, and updated since its introduction in 2025.

We are proud to attend Benet and to have the Village of Lisle play a significant role in our lives. But to be honest, the Baumgartner-Gilbert Stadium and athletic fields are relics of the 1960s and do not align with what other schools in the area offer. The current conditions negatively impact our student experience.

There are four pillars of excellence at our school: Academics, Faith & Service, Fine Arts, and Athletics. The state of our stadium and athletic fields makes it harder for all of us to achieve our personal best.  The proposed improvements to the stadium and track will enhance the campus and benefit future generations of students and athletes.

We have also witnessed Benet listening to feedback and adjusting its plans to address concerns. The school has also promised to follow a set of commitments and operating conditions as part of this compromise.

We recognize the privilege the renewed stadium presents and are fully committed to upholding Benet’s tradition of responsible, respectful student behavior and being a good neighbor.

We urge the Village Board to approve the renewed campus, which will bring significant benefits to Benet and the Lisle community. By supporting this plan, you will directly advance students’ academic, athletic, and social growth now and for the future.
