The leadership of Benet Academy has proposed a plan to renew the school’s Baumgartner-Gilbert Stadium and enhance the campus with a modern stadium and athletic facility that can accommodate all the school’s sports teams, athletic competitions, extracurricular activities, and physical education classes.

After six hearings, on November 19, 2025 the Village of Lisle Planning and Zoning Commission voted 6–1 in favor of recommending Benet’s proposal to the Village Board. We sincerely appreciate the Commission’s thorough review of Benet’s plans and their recognition of the adjustments and commitments we made in response to ongoing community feedback.

The final step is consideration before the Village Board of Trustees. The meeting is tentatively scheduled for Monday, April 6, 2026 at 7 p.m., and we look forward to engaging with the trustees and the community.

Dear Mayor Mullen and Members of the Village Board:

We, the undersigned members of the community, respectfully ask for your final approval and support of Benet Academy’s plan to renew and modernize its stadium and athletic fields. The proposal has been thoroughly studied, reviewed, and updated since it was first introduced in 2025.

Benet has listened to feedback and adjusted its plans to address concerns. The school has also promised to follow a set of commitments and operating conditions as part of this compromise.

By approving the plan, you are ensuring that future generations of students and athletes will have access to facilities that help them attain their personal best. Fitness and athletics are a key part of the student experience, just as important as academics and social growth.

Right now, Benet is a well-known part of the Lisle community, but its facilities do not match those of many other schools in the area. Your approval can help Benet and Lisle move forward.
